Our Elder Community Care Triage Coordinator, Edmilse Diaz, has developed straight forward tips for older adults and their caregivers that provide ways to maintain your mental and physical wellbeing during this difficult time. She also offers proven techniques to help relieve stress and anxiety.

It is hard to go it alone sometimes. We think we are supposed to do it all ourselves. We believe we are weak to need help. We feel guilty if we vent about a loved one. But the truth of the matter is, ASKING FOR HELP IS A SIGN OF STRENGTH! With support, you can give your loved one the best version of you!

You may need help if you: 

  • Feel like your loved one’s condition is getting worse despite your best efforts
  • Are becoming impatient, irritable and frustrated with your loved one
  • Feel exhausted or overwhelmed most of the time
  • Have no support system providing assistance or relief from caregiving
  • Feel like you should be able to handle this on your own
  • Are drinking alcohol more often than usual

Family Caregiver Support Program: This program, offered through , differs from other programs, in that it is specifically designed to support the Caregiver with their needs. Call our trained Caregiver Specialist, Donna Murray, at 508-573-7239 to find out about services available for caregivers.

Elder Community Care (ECC):  You can also find support within our ECC program, which is a partnership with Advocates, Inc., and United Way of Tri-County. Elder Community Care can help you with your concerns and worries.
