A fresh start for the Caregiving Chronicles blog
By Douglas Flynn / August 30, 2018

Let me start by apologizing for the lack of new content on this blog for the last few weeks. We have been undergoing some personnel changes in our Caregiving Department and we needed a little time to get everyone up to speed on all of their new roles and duties.

Personally, I (Douglas Flynn) have moved on from my role as Caregiving MetroWest Program Manager to a new position as the Community Programs Manager at BayPath Elder Services. I will still be overseeing the Caregiving MetroWest Program, but will now also be in charge of the entire Family Caregiver Support Program, our Healthy Living Program, the Elder Community Care Program, our LGBT Outreach Initiative and our elder housing programs, which include Mission Springs in Holliston, the Tribune Building in Framingham, and three supportive housing sites in Marlborough.

While I am now overseeing this wide range of programs, do not worry about any lack of focus on Caregiving MetroWest. I came to BayPath in 2012 to implement a planning grant to research the needs for this program and website, then produced all the content for the site and served as its inaugural program manager until this summer. I have put my heart and soul into making this site as helpful, comprehensive and user-friendly as possible, so I will still be keeping a close eye on things here. And as for this blog, rest assured I wouldn't leave it in anything but the most trusted hands.

Alicia Rego, who served as BayPath's Caregiver Specialist until this summer before moving on to a new role at BayPath, has been integral to making this program and website a success. She created and updated the Wellness Wall and contributed in countless other ways.

But don't worry. We have brought on board another dedicated and knowledgeable person in the Caregiver Specialist role in Nina Rosenberg. She will introduce herself here shortly, and will be taking on the duties of updating the Wellness Wall and this blog. I am confident she will be providing lots of unique insight, information and advice through both outlets.

I would like to thank everyone who has taken time to read any of the hundreds of blog posts that I have written here in the past four-plus years since we launched the site in May 2014. I hope that you found them helpful. I have nothing but the deepest respect and admiration for everything you do as caregivers to help your loved ones and I am proud of anything I can do to help ease that burden in any way.

Thanks again for coming to the site and this blog in particular and I hope you coming to visit regularly to read the updates Nina will soon be adding.
