The Create a Better Day Cafe in Marlborough and the Comfort Food Caring Cafe in Sudbury continue to provide support to those caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's or another dementia, with next sessions set for Feb. 26 and 27, respectively.

The Alzheimer's Association will hold an education forum on "Effective Communication Strategies for People with Dementia" at Pleasantries Adult Day Services in Marlborough on February 28. Learn about how communication takes place when someone has Alzheimer's, how to learn to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia, and how to identify strategies to help you connect and communicate at each stage of the disease.

Two of the area's memory cafes have some scheduling notes for the upcoming meetings. The Create A Better Day Cafe in Marlborough will note be meeting in December due to the Christmas holiday, while the Comfort Food Caring Cafe in Sudbury will now meet on the fourth Monday of each month, starting on January 23 from 12-2 p.m.
