Navigating through the waves of grief after the loss of a loved one can be difficult with its many undercurrents and difficult terrain. A six- or eight-week adult support group is often helpful as you maneuver into this uncharted territory. The West River Hospice Bereavement Program offers support groups that are facilitated by professional staff who understand that some people participate by talking and others by listening.

West River Hospice is offering a new program, "Narrative Medicine: Healing through Writing" starting on July 19. This is a six-week series that will explore the art of collecting and telling our sacred stories. Narrating grief, loss or illness is helpful for anyone who has been patient, caregiver, spouse, or child.

"Living with Loss," a six-week bereavement support group will be held in Acton beginning on May 17. This group is intended for anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one within the last year.

West River Hospice is offering a new bereavement support group in Marlborough this spring. "Circle of Healing" is a six-week program meeting each Tuesday from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Marlborough Council on Aging through April 25.
