State Senator Jamie Eldridge will host the 36th Annual Senior Conference this Thursday, April 21 in Marlborough. The event is free to attend and will run from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at Assabet Valley Regional Technical high School. It will feature workshops, entertainment, exhibits, health screenings, door prizes and guest speakers.

Pleasantries Adult Day and Consulting Services will be offering new sessions at two memory cafes in the coming weeks. The Create A Better Day Cafe will hold its next session on Sunday, April 24 at Pleasantries in Marlborough. The Caring Cafe will hold its next session at the Sudbury Senior Center on Friday, May 6. These cafes are unique programs offering both caregivers of people with Alzheimer's or another dementia and their loved ones a chance for some respite and socialization.

Tax Day is fast approaching. A new bill, the Credit for Caring Act, introduced by Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, fellow Democrat Michael Bennett and Republicans Joni Ernst and Kelly Ayotte won't help this year, but could help ease some of the financial burden on caregivers in future years if it is passed.
