Traditions of Wayland hosting presentation on older adults' sleep disorders
By Douglas Flynn / September 7, 2014
Sleep problems become more common as a person ages. Older adults often deal with difficulty falling or staying asleep or find themselves sleeping too much.

Much of that is simply part of the aging process. But there are also many sleep disorders affecting older adults that can be very serious, and can cause or exacerbate other health problems. Understanding the need for proper sleep and the causes of any sleep issues you or a loved one may be experiencing is vital.

Much can be learned through web resources such as the National Institutes of Health’s MedlinePlus site offers a page dedicated to sleep disorders in the elderly or the UCLA Sleep Disorders Center.

But there will also be a way to get more information in person this week. Traditions of Wayland is offering an educational presentation on sleep disorders, their causes and treatment and other ways to improve your sleep.

Entitled “Tossing, Turning and Desperate for Sleep?: Practical Solutions for Older Adults,” the event will feature Betsy Connolly, MS, and will take place on Tuesday, September 9 at 2 p.m. at the Traditions of Wayland (10 Green Way, Wayland, MA).

Refreshments will be served. RSVP are requested and should be sent to Jessica Brook at 508-358-0700 or by email at jessica.brook@traditionsofwayland.com
