Advocates' next telephone support group for caregivers begins September 17
By Douglas Flynn / September 5, 2014
Earlier this summer, Caregiving Chronicles highlighted a resource for caregivers to get support even if they are not able to physically get to a support group meeting.

Advocates, a Framingham-based human services organization, offers telephone support groups for family caregivers of older adults.

And the next 12-week session for the Advocates Caregiver Telephone Connections will begin on September 17. Meetings, conducted by phone in a conference call setting, will be held on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:45 p.m.

In its announcement, Advocates noted that the benefits of participating in a caregiver telephone support group from the comfort of your own home include “meeting” others who share the ups and downs of caregiving, decreasing stress and improving your own health and creating a buddy system to solve problems as they come up.

Registration is required to participate. Please contact Nancy King-Bolger, LICSW, at 508-808-8376 or NKing-B@advocatesinc.org.
